A wealth of information related to Malware and a great Malware Removal Forum

Free Computer Help

The Malware Removal Community is overwhelmed by people posting to their forums with infected computers, be it a Virus or some sort of  Spyware. If you feel that you may be infected by a virus or malware, then we are going to try and  get you cleaned up as best we can by running some of the programs I am listing and  that will sometimes fix your problem,  if not than we are going to prepare your system for you so that you can post a Hijackthis log to a forum of your choice and wait for help from a trained Malware Remover.  All the tools that I recommend for download are free and highly regarded by the fine people in the Malware Removal Community. Some of the tools have also been written by the same fine people.

A high percentage of  people I deal with both on and off the internet are very lax about their security on the internet. A few years ago, if you caught a virus, you could have your anti virus program remove it, but let me tell ya,  there are things going around today that steal all of your passwords and Bank Account numbers, personal data on your system, they have the means to completely take over your computer and do  anything they like, there are also some infections going around that the only resouce is to format your drive and do a clean install of  windows,  yet I ask people if they have anti virus software installed and most of the answers I get are  I Think So   well I think so just doesn't cut it anymore and when you find if you do online banking and someone withdrew  money out of your account, you wish you would have been more diligent.

This is what we are going to do.

1. I am going to provide links to the various tools and programs.
2. Give you a brief tutorial on how to set up and run the programs.
3. Give you more links for Free Online Virus Scanners.
4. And provide more links for the various Spyware Removal Forums.
5. Provide you free programs to install after your clean to help keep you more secure.
6. Also some tips for maintenance to help keep your system running smoothly.

Also keep this in mind.

1. Never give out your credit card number unless you are buying from a legitimate site.
2. Outside of a Government site like Social Security, give your social security number to no one.
3. If a site  askes for your Social Security Number, get out of that site as fast as you can.
4. Free Screensavers, Smiley Faces, Free Credit Reports, usually come bundled with Spyware.
5. Guaranteed, if you frequent Porn Sites, your going to get infected with Malware or a Virus.
6. Don't open Email Attachments from people you don't know.
7. Read the End User License Agreement (EULA) before installing software, sometimes at the very end of the agreement,  you will be giving them the right to install Additional Software for Marketing Purposes. That's your tip off that you are going to get more than you bargained for.

With the bold new threats going around be wary of these

Legitimate Anti Spyware Programs will not pop up in your browser offering you a free scan of your system, they will be either a Rogue Anti Spyware Program or a Trojan itself.

Sometimes a site will ask you to install a Video Codec that is needed to enhance viewing the site, this could be legit as for example , instaling Flash Player, but  thieves are using this trick to install Malware on your system, so before you install it, Google it and make sure its legit.

Let me point this out also, a few years ago, most virus writers where kids that did it for kicks, caught a virus, it made your screen wobble or some other stupid thing. Run a tool, delete a few files and you where on your way. Let me tell ya, thats all changed, there are threats going around that will steal all your personal informtion like Bank Account numbers, passwords and the list goes on. You can unknowingly download a trojan  that will capture all your keystrokes and send them back to the author. There are some threats that are so bad that they leave your system compromized, that means that even if the infection is removed that the system should not be used for any online transactions, the only recourse for a system like this is to reformat and do a clean install of windows......Not whole lot of fun.

So before you open that Spam email, or the link or attachment in an email from someone you don't know, THINK TWICE . I guess at this point I should also mention that if you frequent Porn sites, or download CRACKED Software, almost 100% quaranteed you are going to get whacked with something bad.

So, if you feel that your computer is running slower than normal, and you are experiencing random popup windows and other strange things  happening, you may have gotten infected with a virus or malware,  or if you just want to check your system and keep it clean,  jump on over to the   Lets Get Clean Page and read on.
